Shatter Me

So I started reading Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Which is about about a girl named Juliette who is in an asylum due to the fact that she murdered a small boy three years prior. From what I've read so fair it is clear that Juliette is partly insane probably both from the isolation in the asylum and from the the horror she holds from herself. The only thing she has is a small red notebook that she writes her feelings in. Soon she gets a cellmate that named Adam Kent who reminds her of someone from her past. She convinces herself that Adam cannot be this person. She helps Adam while he's in the asylum but refused to let him touch her. One day, the Reestablishment, a government that has the world within its grasp, comes for Juliette. After it is reviled that Adam is a soldier for the leader of Sector 45 of the Reestablishment.

I'm having a hard time getting through this book, I don't now if it's because it's just the wrong time to read this book because I definitely think there's a time and place to read books. I don't know if that is one of those times but I can't get past chapter 5. I don't like that the thoughts Juliette doesn't want to admit to they're crossed out. I also don't like that she's partly insane, I just can't get on board for that one. And how she likes how she feels when she tortures people, I'll take a pass on that! So we'll see if I can finish it. Maybe I'll just put it on the to read at a later date shelf.
