The Help

I'm currently watching The Help on TNT and this is one of those exceptions where I haven't read the book first and there aren't many of those. But this movie is seriously fantastic! I can't compare the movie to the book but I'm really enjoying the movie.

I know it was only around fifty years ago and that's not really that long ago but I can't imagine a time where slavery would be okay. I can't even imagine having a maid, nanny, butler, cook or any kind of help let alone treating someone like they are property because of the color of their skin or for any reason for that matter. It horrible that anyone lived that way or that people still do it has gotten better but it still happens. It hurts my heart just thinking about how some people were treated and still are. It's a weird coincidence that we were talking about Brown vs. The Board of Education in class this past week and now this is on TV but it happened.

I might have to read the book after I watch this if the movies this good I can't imagine how good the book is. I have always loved Emma Stone she's one of my favorite actresses and she plays the role of Skeeter flawlessly I mean she's fantastic. I've laughed and cried. It's an excellent story so shout out to Tate Taylor you did well!
