Star-Crossed

The CW

With a little under a week until my next new book comes out (Hate Me by Jullian Dodd), I've been busy with work and school but I found the time today to check out the latest episode of Star-Crossed on The CW Now app. I was skeptical about this new show and I still don't know how it will fair but I actually really like it so I hope it lasts. The whole plot "human girl, alien boy romance" sounds kind of weird but it's well written and is more about the oppression and discrimination. This show's a really cool way of talking about discrimination and why it's so wrong. It shows how hateful people can be just because people are different. The show's kind of a take on the discrimination against African Americans in the 50's and 60's or today with the discrimination against the LGBT community today. I really hope when people see this they understand how this can connect to any kind of discrimination.

The story of  Star-crossed follows Emery Whitehill (Aimee Teegarden) who once saved an alien boy boy named Roman (Matt Lanter). Six years later as a way to integrate the alien race (known as Atrians) with the humans a select group of Atrian teens are enrolled in the public school. Emery and Roman meet once again. The show only has 8 episodes but a lot has happened. With human groups fighting to rid the world of the Atrian race and a seperate group of Atrains  trying to eliminate the humans this love story should get interesting quickly.

Watch Star-Crossed on The CW on Monday nights at 8.7c
