The Keatyn Chronicles
Book Recommendation
In honor of Hate Me the fifth book in The Keatyn Chronicles coming out last Saturday my next book recommendation has to be the serious itself. The Keatyn Chronicles is by Jillian Dodd. About a high school girl named Keatyn who's mom is a famous actress, who ends up getting stalked by a deranged fan of her mothers. She ends up creating a new identity and leaving her family for their safety and her own. When she gets to her new boarding school she ends up learning a lot about herself and grows immensely as a person.Because the book characters are in high school there is a lot of drama that you just want to yell about because that's how high school was. Someone takes something the wrong way and a fright breaks out couples break up, nasty texts are sent, and hearts break but even though a lot of the situations and reactions are immature because of the character's age a lot of the situations seem like college situations. Reading it I can't help ask was this stuff happening when I was in high school? If so I was obviously seriously out of it, I swear no one was having that much sex! But its good Dodd does a good job of making you feel for the characters and really love one person and hate the other.
I definitely find myself empathizing with Keatyn even though some of her choices were rash I understand where she's coming from and see way she makes the choices she does. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Aiden, he's my book boyfriend he's such a sweaty and he loves Keatyn so much. All I'm saying is if Keatyn and Aiden don't end up together I'll be throwing my iPhone against the wall! They've been through so many misunderstandings it hurts my heart, I want them together so bad! See what I mean, I have an emotional connection with the characters and I don't know what I'll do when the last book comes out in August.
I randomly happened across this book last winter and I am so happy I did. I've enjoyed reading and re-reading the books I love the characters and even though they are in high school Dodd did a great job allowing you to empathize and connect with the characters.
